I'm really surprised how immature many of you are acting about the thought of a WW3. It's a serious threat, and it's a real shame that none of you see that. Perhaps, you should watch the news once in a while instead of pretending to be Master Chief. ;) Many leaders are quite terrified of another possible World War.
Secondly, North Korea is allied with China, which is a very powerful country. However, Japan is stronger. They have better technology, a vastly superior navy, and a decent sized ground-force. Next, South Korea has much better technology than North Korea. North Korea is still using technology from the 60s; they haven't moved on much since then. We've given the South Koreans a lot of our technology, and now they have a very powerful Air Force. It's hard to determine who would win, but South Korea is more than powerful enough to stand toe-to-toe against North Korea alone. If China got involved, which they probably would, then it would be a different story. It's safe to say that North Korea would get its ass kicked, with the help of Japan and a new and improved South Korea. However, a war with North Korea might destabalize the region and create a much larger conflict.
For the person who said, "Who are we to dictate what the North Koreans are allowed to do?", I just have to call you ignorant and tell you to watch the news. They can't have nukes for a number of reasons:
-Iran and terrorist groups might get ahold of them
-A country that murders its own people and processes them through death camps are is responsible enough to have the most powerful and most dangerous weapon the world has ever known.
