Is this good or bad? Personally, unless I can watch all without paying twice, I don't know how it's gonna be implemented and it's just gonna mess up the sales. So it's a bad for me.

I don't want to have to watch a movie multiple times so that I can have a "CHANCE" of watching the alternate ending which may suck, or even worse; I like the original ending so I watch again, and it's a terrible ending.. Also, I don't really like this Gavin Hood(director).

Stupid idea. From whats Ive read the endings will be on different prints and in different theaters. Its all just Fox trying to get more people to come see the movie.

You are right. And it will only work on BluRay/DVD. They should just have done an "after the credits" scene(maybe 5-10mins) so that people will watch it. I'm getting annoyed with this Fox and Gavin Hood ruining the film now.

Umm that's really stupid. Do they just randomize the endings each time they play the movie or something? If you pay to see a movie you ought to be able to see all of the movie. Maybe its just something that will be added when it's released on dvd.

These endings will be after the credits, just different ones in different theaters. Who knows what they will be about. Id put all balme on Fox, they really seem to be a horrible studio, especially with films like this.

Yes, it's random.. and secondly I know it's after the credits, but it's an "ending"... they shouldn't have wasted time filming different endings and instead just make something like the one in Iron Man where you see SLJ as Nick Fury. But instead of 5seconds, make it about 5mins.

This is misleading, it only means the ending after the credits, not the actual ending.

I predict a directors-cut and a directors-directors-cut as soon as it hits DVD and Blue. Pretty lame if you ask me. Especially if they're gonna do it in the cinemas. meh.

So how will this work? Multiple endings could work on games, but I'm not so sure about movies.

it sounds like a bad idea. i think it only works on DVD's. so would a movie theater have like two or three copies and say maybe today we will play alternative ending 2. i think it would be good on DVDs but not at the movie theater.

If that's the case, what's the big deal? The stuff after the credits isn't an ending; it's bonus footage.

Yeah.

So why didn't you carry the word "secret" over into this thread?

Thanks, after reading that, I'm with Oleg; I'll see the movie once, then get all the endings on the disc release.

Hopefully the BluRay/DVD better have all endings.. Btw guys, wondering, besides the Obvious(graphics/sound), is a BluRay inferior to a DVD? I always see DVD having 2disc boxsets with all the special features and "Making ofs" and BluRay never does..

Wouldn't the Blu-Ray be able to have everything stored onto the one disk anyway?

I'd just assumed that there would be an alternate ending in the DVD, but to do it in the actual release in theaters isn't a good idea.

The only way to randomize the ending each time it plays would be to remove the last reel and attach a different one. Do you realise how much of a headache that is for a projectionist? I'm so glad I quit that job. I'm still paranoid because of it.

Of course it isn't. It's a terrible idea.. and based on what I've heard now, this random ending is part of the actual movie and NOT a after-credit blackscreen clip.. Is this true?

I think it's a bad idea for theatres, don't see why they didn't just use this for the DVD release. Plus, it could cause confusion for people who are at different theatres and try to talk about the movie. "I don't remember that part."

This is an awesome idea, but the thread is misleading. It's secret after-the-credits endings, not full blown endings. I'm guessing there will be like 4, so it will be cool asking people which one they got
