You believe there are bullies on Gamespot?

So do you think that Gamespot has bullies? Why do you feel that way, and do you feel that other people have bullied you?

I don't think i've ever been bullied on the internet. I don't know if this situation is specifically an example of bullying, but i did see someone a while ago post about his views on women having jobs, and i wouldn't be surprised if there were a few people who wouldn't let it go, and would post in his other threads saying he was an idiot because of those views.

I'm not saying that getting insulted on the forums is bullying. I'm saying that if you are being persistently harassed, i think that constitutes bullying.

aside from a few jerks, i dont see too much bullying going on here.

How can you be bullied on the Internet? At least bully right back or give the one-finger salute.

i'd say yes if they actually know the person irl and interact w/ them or their friends / family.

as far as a complete stranger being a bully to someone else.. i don't see how that's possible. you can easily ignore them

Just try to have a "healthy" discussion or argument in System Wars. You'll feel like you lost 10 IQ points.

There have been, but that type is usually removed pretty quickly. There are a few jerks, but they aren't bullying.

Quite a few gamers probably are young people with low self esteem.. With anonymity and an almost "he who is the biggest asshole is the best" group mentality it's pretty much inevitable. I tend to think of it like a bear attacking people. The bear isn't evil, it's just a bear being a bear,.

We have some deplorable awful people but not so much bullies.

But it should still be stressed that we have truly horrible people here

I'll trick your parents into thinking I'm innocent and then get them to adopt me and win them over to become their favorite child. Once I'm their favorite child and you are their least favorite I'll burn your house down and ride off into the sunset in their car.

you cant bully some one through the internet, only on those occasions when they hack your stuff and have information on you, other than that, bullying on the internet is a myth.

I've heard of people who were so depressed, maybe because they were bullied in school, that they went on forums and basically told everyone there that they were going to kill themselves (something like that). The people who responded seemed to encourage those people to do it, they were pretty much being horrible (and encourage, I mean they must have been telling the guy/girl that they were worthless, they deserved to die, etc). I dunno if that is one example of bullying on the internet, but IMO that could be.

I think in those cases people just take it as "trolling a troll" and forget that every now and then the situation can be very real for the person on the other side of the keyboard...
