One that I can think of off the top of my head: french fries with gravy and lingonberries.
Or hell, just gravy and lingonberries. I could eat it with a spoon.
AH! I love oriental cuisine! Here in my neighborhood, Montréal's Le Plateau Mont-Royal, we have a very popular restaurant called "La Merveille de Vietnam" which is also combined with "Yoy Sushi Bar". There, you can eat at the resto, deliver, or takeout. The deliveries end sometime late at night, but you can go to the counter 24 hours a day! They have THE MOST AMAZING General Tao Chicken, my FAVOURITE dish of all time! They also have this awesome Orange Chicken, which is very similar to General Tao, but the sauce is orange flavoured, and it's also got orange slices all over it. They also sell Pocky at the counter...and always happen to have a few boxes of strawberry flavor...my favourite! Last but not least....they also serve Bubble Tea...my ADDICTION.
Mmm...I want some nao!
Another one for me would have to be the french fries from some of our local (back home) baseball complexes. Grew up playing ball, and we even played our high school ball at these complexes. I worked there over the summer helping little kids baseball camps as well. I can never put my finger on why exactly, but they are the best french fries in the world. My girl friend used to work there as well, and I guess they sell more french fries than all of their other items combined (except drinks). Pretty much every person in the huge complex is eating fries at some point.
Now when I go back to help in the camps over summer or to help my girlfriend's dad coach his little kids team, I ALWAYS get those fires. The taste reminds me of a sunny summer afternoon, home, and baseball.
Homemade lasagna. It's a bit of a pain to make but the result is worth it, and it's almost better reheated the next day. Each bite is glorious. Your teeth tear through the soft, nutty pasta and blend together the layers of sauce, meat, and cottage cheese. Green peppers meld too, and mushrooms mix with beef as you chew, creating a magnificent mouthful of food. There's a hint of garlic, a touch of oregano and a pervasive yet subdued flavour of parmesan cheese, and then you swallow, scoop up another morsel, and start the experience all over again.DJ_Lae
Wow :o! Sounds delicious!

its been ages since ive had meatloaf, and I really want some now. I wish I had a loaf pan to cook it in
I make a good one, too, with ground pork, veal, and beef.
Spaghetti and Meatballs, Shrimp fra dia volo, Lamb pot roast, beef brisket, Chicago Style deep dish, authentic Fish & Chips, and a lot more.
My goodness, how can I forget my absolute favorite: CHEESECAKEEEEEEEEEE

I made one once with onions, bell peppers, cheese, and a red pepper for some spice. It was really good.
Ramen personaly, but not just any kind of ramen. it can't be the cheap superstore or safeway crap...gotta be the expencive ramen thats like a doller per pack and gotta be the original flavordarkspineslayerInstant noodles are not ramen :x A common misconception in west.
Instant noodles are not ramen :x A common misconception in west. What constitutes real ramen? I've had it at a few restaurants here and it always seems to resemble the instant stuff (more or less). Do they use fresh noodles or something?[QUOTE="darkspineslayer"]Ramen personaly, but not just any kind of ramen. it can't be the cheap superstore or safeway crap...gotta be the expencive ramen thats like a doller per pack and gotta be the original flavortonberry007

theyre both ramen, its just one is dehydrated, the other fresh.
Its tough to beat a big bowl of fresh ramen, though, complete with a few slices of fishcake and some meatballs made out of god knows what lol. Its soooo good! I love the big spoon you get; makes slurping the broth a joy. Not to mention the small plate of fixings you get to put in.
How could I forget?? Terragon Chicken!
It is something my dad makes whenever he feels like wasting a day cooking it or when alot of people are coming over, a la the superbowl. It is a rice and chicken mix that is breaded and seasoned just perfect. It is one of my favorite foods, which is saying something, but it is without a doubt the best smelling food I have ever smelled. It is hilarious, because my brothers and our friends will smell it and everyone will go nuts. It is something of a legend in our family and amongst our friends. My roommates and I got the recipe from him and tried to recreat it and it was respectable. Definitely not the real thing, but you could still taste pieces of glory. :)

Fair enough. I'd imagine they use the same dehydrated stuff in the restaurants here, since it would be too much work to keep fresh on hand. Similar to making homemade pasta versus dried stuff. I should try making ramen myself - it's not much different than spaghetti, I just have to use regular flour instead of durum.[QUOTE="tonberry007"]Instant noodles are not ramen :x A common misconception in west. Instant noodles have other names in japanese or chinese.[QUOTE="darkspineslayer"]Ramen personaly, but not just any kind of ramen. it can't be the cheap superstore or safeway crap...gotta be the expencive ramen thats like a doller per pack and gotta be the original flavorDJ_Lae
