Yeah, Soilworks last 4 albums have all been amazing. That song is from the first album they started to change to their much better sound, Natural Born Chaos. They sound a little bit different after that, but it is for the better. Stabbing the Drama and Natural Born Chaos are their 2 best albums I think.
As for Static-X, it really helps to be an industrial fan. For me they are a combination of my 2 fav genres.
The thing with Daylight Dies is I never really got into doom metal so I never really got into them.
BTW, have you heard anything of a new Katatonia cd coming out this coming year? I know Opeth has one coming, and I thought Katatonia might have a new one seeing as The Great Cold Distance came out in 2006.
Killswitch Engage or Soilwork for me. Than again, people will say that neither of those bands are metal.staindcoldlp

No it wasn't, it was more hard rock and metalcore, and metalcore isn't usually considered to be real metal. Iron Maiden is real metal and it's completely different here. None of this pop-rock bull****.

I feel your pain brahI can most certainly imagine your pain as well, what with listening to a crappy mainstream band that's not technically metal. I don't know how you can stand it.

a7x wasnt always mainstream... i've liked them since 2003 and I still do. Just because they changed there style that doesnt mean im not gonna like them. Just because my tastes are different than your doesnt mean you have to be a ass.[QUOTE="LostProphetFLCL"][QUOTE="Blood-Scribe"][QUOTE="LouieV13"]Avenged Sevenfold, Job for a Cowboy, Phychostick. It is easy to tell the dumb metal-heads when they bring up this "real-metal" BS.
Metalcore is metal, live with it.
Oh and don't kid yourself, Iron Maiden is poppy as hell. Good God Avenged is more metal than they are. They are a terrible, terrible band and get wayyy more credit than they deserve.

No, metalcore is essentially an offshoot that originated from the punk and hard rock scene, it's more or less a metal wannabe sub-genre with no real main genre, it's just there.
It doesn't matter if Iron Maiden is a little mainstream here and there, it's still good, they were essentially the progenitors of power metal, by that virtue and the fact that they are way better in terms of quality, they are more "metal" than a7x could possibly hope to be (though I don't usually use metal as an adjective).
If you don't consider Metal to be your main genre, or if you haven't had much experience with it, you obviously don't have much criterion or even any authority to actually try and make A7X seem more legitimate, what it all boils down to is that it's not real Metal. Obviously by virtue of the fact that I myself have been listening to Metal since Kindergarten and the fact that it's one of the few genres of music that I like, obviously I'm prone to a much better definition of what is and isn't Metal.
Deal with it.
Edit: Gamespot is deleting period marks again...

Just because my tastes are different than your doesnt mean you have to be a ass.I don't give a **** about your tastes. It's that you're categorizing a band as something it's not. Go ahead, listen to A7X, I could care less, but it's not Metal.
