To be honest, it's always hard for me to make a favorites list because there are so many movies I really like a lot, but here are some that I believe will permanently be on the list:

In The Mood For Love

Last Life In The Universe

I'm actually suprised to see someone else mention "The Sting". I think this is actually my favorite movie. So great..

Others are:

Princess Bride

Empire Strikes Back

Fellowship of the Ring

Raiders of the Lost Ark

Batman Begins

Bourn Identity

Airplane gets on the list for my first viewing.. I almost died. For some reason the following viewings weren't as good...

More, but I can't remember them now...

In no particular order:

Monty Python films

Kill Bill 1 and 2

Pulp Fiction

A Clockwork Orange

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The Shining

South Park film

One film I really didn't like was 2001 a Space Odessy. The most boring, pretentious film ever made, glossed over with special effects which have now lost their impact. the first 30 minutes make me lose the will to live. And what does everyone see in "The Lord of the Rings?" Take away the special effects and you've got a mediocre fantasy adventure with an A-list cast.

If you're prepared to deal with actors in gorrilla suits doing absolutely nothing for 30 minutes so that kubrik can ram a message about the evils of man down your throat, then perhaps.

I could be here all night, lol. No particular order, except that the first on my list is my most favorite:

1. Lord of the Rings trilogy (specifically Return of the King)
2. V for Vendetta
3. Gladiator
4. Apocalypto
5. Quills
6. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (and not because of Kevin Costner, ugh)
7. Robin Hood: Men in Tights
8. The Princess Bride
9. Count of Monte Carlo (Richard Harris, "newest" one)
10. Hook (childhood movie, sentimental reasons)
11. Oscar (with Sylvester Stallone and Tim Curry, funny)
12. Wonder Man (Danny Kaye)
13. Court Jester (Danny Kaye)
14. Children of Men
15. Braveheart
16. Rob Roy (Liam Neeson)
17. Scarlet Pimpernel (Jane Seymour)
18. Dances With Wolves
19. Batman (1989)
20. Batman Begins

Ok, I know there are a lot more, but I'll stop there.

I certainly see where you're comming from, but I still like it. I think it has to do more with imaging watching this movie in the 60s, durring the space race, when it came out. This isn't as much a cool (if not occosionaly boring) story as it is an idea of what people in the past thought what the future would be. I just find it interresting and entertaining in a more intellectual way.
