I took my last girlfriend to see Switchfoot and Reliant K for her birthday about a year ago. I've been to smaller concerts and worship events but that's the only big one I've been to (that I actually wanted to see).
The first band I ever saw live was Explosions in the Sky, a pretty good band to start with, I think. I was 16 when I went, and since then I've tried to go to a concert at least once every other month.

Should be a freaking sick concert. I got standing room only tickets so I can be in the thick of all the action. Im probably going to get there like 3 hours early so I can basically be on stage im that close. Thats what I did when I went to a Tool concert a few years back. Enjoy the concert man.
I saw Dream Theater when I was 13. I got in front row and caught a drum stick. I saw All That Remains last month. And this Wendsday I'm going to see Lamb of God. I've been to like 8 concerts total.
I want to Van's Warped Tour a year ago with my boyfriend. :P I saw bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Sum 41, Boys Like Girls.. definitely not my type of music but Sum 41 was my boyfriend's favorite band so it was fun to do that with him.
Kiss when I was 5. They were rocking out in the costumes and my dad and I had our faces painted. I remember the opening band was alright and full of energy but the singer jumped so much that his pants fell down at one point. Then Kiss came and put on a Kiss show which is quite a theatrical experience. It would be at least 4 years before I saw another rock act again.
My first was Black Label Society with Black Stone Cherry and Priestess in support. One of the best concerts I've ever been to, BLS and BSC put on two of the top five best on stage performances I've seen.
