Sports fans who are some of your most over rated atheletes (active/retired)

1.Brett Favre- In my opinion the most overrated NFL player of all time. He is good but not as good as everyone makes him out to be. Strong arm but one of the most reckless QB's to play the game.

2.Karl Malone- Never really liked the guy also over rated. He would of been a nobody if it wasn't for Stockton.

Ill list more when I get time.

He played on an MVP level last year................. at the age of 39. And I ask you this: how old where you when he won the super bowl? I feel like most younger NFL fans don't even remember the first half of his career.

are you serious? a 2x MVP, 4x defensive first team, 13x all-allstar is overrated? and what do you mean you "never really liked the guy"? so because you don't like him for some reason means he's overrated? he would have been a nobody without stockton? you obviously mean stockton would have been a nobody without a great finisher like malone...

^This is how, basically.

People hype them to be Gods among men. And yet often if I watch MMA things devolve into two men cradled on the ground bare knuckle punching each other.

Unless George ST Pierre can stop bullets with his hands, bend titanium, and beat down bears, I'm afraid he's overrated as I'd expect nothing less of God.

Not true. Drew Brees would stay in the pocket until the very last second and find a way to make the ball land in any receivers hand.

Agreed. How can you say Deion is overrated? He is the definition of a true shut down corner. However I will admit, his tackling was terrible.

Drew Brees? Are you crazy? Brees has one of the best passing O-lines in the league. The ONLY supposed weakpoint in that line is Bushrod and even he holds his own against good d-linemen. Not saying Brees isn't good, but no QB can perform without an offensive line or decent receivers. Manning makes Austin Collie, Pierre Garcon and even Blair White look great. Because he's just that good. Brees makes OK receivers look good too. But he has an o-line just like Manning does. Take that away from them and they'll perform poorly. Just take a look at Tony Romo.

Rating QB's by rings is ridiculous and actually makes no sense. Teams win the SB, not QBs. Players like Jim Plunkett and Terry Bradshaw have more rings than Manning and Favre. Are they better players? Of course not. Even Trent Dilfer has a ring!

Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl because he had one of the best defenses of all time. Obviously no that doesn't make him better than Dan Marino or Warren Moon but your missing the point. The point I'm making is I define a QB on how he plays in the postseason. Thats what separates the good from the great. Brett Favre has choked away so many postseason games its unbelievable. I want Tom Brady like QB. Do you remember that drive he had at the end of the game against the Rams in the Super Bowl that lead them to the game winnning field goal? Thats the type of QB I want. A QB that executes under pressure and leads his team to championships. Not a QB that constantly chokes away games in the playoffs . . .

By definition he takes risks. The last few years he's thrown picks in clutch situations. That doesn't erase what he did in the past. i knew someone would say beckham. imo, as a footballer he wasn't overrated. no one said he was the best in the world, and he wasn't but he was pretty damn brilliant in some ways. youtube him, and you'll see what i mean. it's more the hype around him in general, but as an athlete he was never called the best.

Who has Brady had to throw to in those 3 Super Bowls? Deion Branch and such. If the Patriots didn't have Brady I guarantee you they wouldn't have gotten those 3 rings. Plus Brady has played 10 years and got 3 rings. Favre has played double the time and only has 1. What are you talking about holding the best offenses to 17 points. Are you referring to Giants?

I'm not saying Favre isn't a good QB but hes not "legendary" or great by any means. He just a good, durable QB that has played for a long time. Plus he has been choking away playoffs game for way longer than the past couple years.
