Don Imus is the victim of double standards and racist agitators.

"A few searches on a popular song lyrics website reveal that the phrase "nappy head hoes" turns up in 14 rap songs. The more vulgar "nappy head b****" is found in 25 rap songs. And the expression "nappy head" appears in 51 rap songs. The rappers are responsible for making the term "nappy head" synonymous with "Black" not Don Imus."

Not all rap has those lyrics in it, just the popular commercialized garbage like 50 Cent that gets mass radio play. I like rap, but I listen to a more socially conscious rap, stuff like blackstar, common, the roots, rhymefest. Lyrics focusing more on poverty, love, and society rather than garbage about "Hoes". 

Anyway, I'm glad Imus was fired. I DO believe he crossed the line in this case, and he's said some other messed up stuff before in his career. IMO he should've been fired long before this incident. It's about time.

mob mentality at its best....   how many ppl were GENUINELY offended by this?   i dont mean offended when a camera is put in thier face.  or offended when someone asks you because you dont want ppl to think you are racist.  i mean, at your very core, offended by what someone many ppl have never heard of and never listened to said.   probably like 50 people.   but you plop in a.s. to rabble-rouse and this is what you get...    so who's next al?  you finally gonna grow a sack and go after people who are doing far more harm to black people than don imus?

Oh you can bet Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy and other coloured comedians get away with racism. Most of there acts are actually depending on it or it would last about 3 minutes. The second a Caucasian person makes so much as a hint at a racist remarks, they have to clear there desk.

Assuming Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle and others who use racism are allowed to continue you doing it, there will always be racism.

I personally think that it was blown way, way out of proportion. Watching the video it seems that, if anything, Sid Rosenberg is equally if not more at fault than Imus.

Double standards at it's best.

Imus was a shock jock, and most of his "jokes" were never funny, and in bad tastes (I'm not talking about the recent stuff either).  Anyway if you're a shock jock getting fired is almost always a blessing cause you get tons of publicity, and you're next contract is always much bigger (if you're any good).

Also as for the double standard, if you pay attention to these so called "rascist" comedians like dave chapelle, Mencia and eddie murphey you'd notice that they tend to say positive and negative things about different races

He said something that was considered offensive on his radio show. He would have had the right to free speech on his side if he was in public or at home... but he was on his radio show, where the parent company has a reputation to uphold. It is his employer's decision and I agree with it.

If people understand that something is offensive then they should refrain from speaking it.

Also, if somebody is offended by an opinion that I have, do you think that I should refrain from speaking my mind? I find the very concept of stifling opinions based on other people's reactions a vulgar and offensive idea, but I would never ask that you refrain from speaking your mind.
