First off, let me start by saying that the term "race" is rediculous. There are varying skin pigments and hair concentrations/make-ups based on location. We are all the same species and thusly...are all "equal".
This brings me to my point: How on Earth is it at all fair to maintain an equal ratio of different colors of people at the workplace? If you are the most qualified, you should get the job...end of story. Why do the less-deserving have a better chance at a career of their choosing based on minor genetic differences that they had no control over?
Don't even try to tell me that it is because of slavery...how many descendants of slave-owning families are still around? Not to mention that half of the Americans during the days of slave trade lived in the north and never bought or sold a human life. I know, personally, that my family came over from Poland right around the turn of the century, and never owned a slave...does this mean I am exempt from these employment rules?
What are you guys' takes on this? Don't hold back now!
