Far more athletes are good law abiding citizens. It's a bad image, but it's still a minority.

Secondly, the shooting and violence should stop, but drugs are just a joke. They're people just like you or me, if they want to smoke pot or do drugs I don't care. Just do it in your own home and don't drive.

I have an idea where this thread is going to lead to, but I will not say in fear of getting moderated. People are very predictable.

The problem with the NFL is that careers are so short most of the folks playing are just kids. Accordingly some of them make some poor choices. The sad part is that there are a lot of very generous and genuinely good guys in the NFL.

The NFL has been taking a lot more action than in the past and even telling teams that such behavior will impact the owners themselves. This is prompting a lot more teams to add stipulations about behavior to their player's contracts allowing a lot more flexibility for the teams to punish players. I think both the NFL and individual teams actions will help over time. That's not to say people won't be repeatedly stupid, but I think action against such players will be a whole lot more swift and severe.

Well put. If they want to waste their careers that's their problem. Bring on the violence:D
