Oh, come on! Iron Maiden? You should have added some Lil Wayne instead, then your list would be perfect. :P
[QUOTE="Juggernaut140"]I mean what bands do you define as emo ?BiancaDKI dont define any bands as emo per say, for me its just metal. I can tell you what bands comes to mind when someone tells me they listen to emo music, tho? They are not true to the original genre from the early 90s, not by a long shot, but as we all know, the definition of emo has been grossly distorted over the last couple of years. Emo in my mind generally equates to bands in the lines of : 30 seconds to mars my chemical romance saosin funeral for a friend bring me the horizon Ofcourse, as i pointed out earlier, you cant just classify these bands as being technically "emo", these bands have just succumbed to popular belief, thats it. Isn't Bring me the Horizon consided Deathcore or Metalcore? (Heck IDK they have to many damn sub genres in music now)

(Heck IDK they have to many damn sub genres in music now) I will repeat myself: "I dont define any bands as emo per say, for me its just metal." and "these bands have just succumbed to popular belief, thats it." I am referring to the general notion in popular belief of what makes up an emo band, and -- generally -- people dont give a crap what genre or subgenre they technically belong to, so why should i.[QUOTE="BiancaDK"][QUOTE="Juggernaut140"]I mean what bands do you define as emo ?jasonharris48
[QUOTE="darksword1123"]Impossible for me to pick a top 5.BiancaDKAnd if a gun was placed to your head, and you were given pen and paper? If that was the case I would just list five bands that I like. :P

I'll nominate one from every 'genre' that I like I suppose
- Weezer (blue and pinkerton, i can't help but have a strange admiration for whatever cuomo produces)
- Little Richard
- Rolling Stones
- Blur
- The Velvet Underground
but even that isn't necessarily true, its too difficult.. Pixies, Jarvis Cocker/Pulp, The Libertines, The Beatles, The Small Faces, Chuck Berry, The Thermals all especially deserve mentioning, I can't pick..
I have a little more than 5.
Green Day
Sum 41
Billy Talent
Rage Against the Machine
Story of the Year
Not in that exact order, but Green Day is my fave!
[QUOTE="Avistann"] 2. Attack Attack! Juggernaut140

1. Pink Floyd.
2. Led Zeppelin
3. The Beatles
4. Ultravox
5. The Doors

Well I'm honored to be the first. And yes, a true fan indeed. Though, I can't say I really listen to their new stuff, but I saw them two years ago at Virgin Festival in MD, and Billy and Jimmy still rocked the s*** out of everything. It was amazing. I am a DIE HARD fan of mostly everything pre December 1, 2001. But I still like some of the new stuff, and Zwan even had a song or two I liked.
Well im a pretty hardcore (probably the most hardcore one on here, not to brag or anything:P )fan myself, and thats including their new stuff which i think isnt as bad as most people make it, especially Machina1/2. That's great though, your not the first, their are 2 other people who are big fans (Kill_You and Cousin Eddy) but thats great that theirs other people other than ourselves who appreciate Billy Corgans work. Most people bash the guy now (even more than before)I like Machina 1 and 2, that was pre Smashing Pumpkins break-up. The thing I don't like about the new stuff is that he doesn't go raspy anymore, and the music itself just isn't that 90's sad/happy/rock/grunge that made them so amazing, but I'll still gladly listen to anything they put out.
