OK, so I've heard a few stories about religious people experiencing or witnessing a supernatural event, such as healing, casting out demons, etc. I never experienced one myself, but it got me thinking: What do non religious people think about this? One story i heard was this lady who was said to have been possessed by a demon, and when people tried to hold her down, she was able to throw them off, due to being so strong. Someone read bible verses to her, and she supposedly told that person to stop reading them, since "She hates them so much."

Obviously there will be people who tell me this is nonsense...But I wouldn't be surprised if there were others who witnessed something like this.

All I'm sure of, personally, is that the major organised religions are false. Who knows what else is out there though, I certainly do not pretend to know.

I've tried to explain why it's impossible for something to be supernatural before. Maybe something could be without explanation, but by definition, supernatural means something that is impossible with the laws of nature. And if something occurs, then it is possible. Therefore, it's not supernatural.

Well, i have never read the Qu'ran, but i have some knowledge of the Bible, but i think all 3 religions seem to say that sorcery is bad. Isn't that interesting?

I'm not trying to lecture, but i think what we're talking about is stuff that isn't usual, stuff like day to day stuff.

Sure, but the term supernatural is outdated and useless. There are plenty of things that have been widely acknowledged, yet we still can't explain them. That doesn't mean they're impossible, it just means that we can't explain them.

As for the actual issue at hand, I personally think it's hokum. But as a previous poster said, to each his own.

At least you can say you know more than about 85% of people, going by that.

I'm out of cookies, but you can have a voucher for one. Unfortunately, it expired yesterday.
