When world governments will finally collaspe and war, famine, disease and natural disasters will sweep across the planet.

Genetic_Code

That doesn't mean that human civilization as we know it will abruptly end.

But it's safe to assume that the world population will fall dramatically if the above thing(s) happen.

I think something will happen. Now the religous biblical things may or may not I cant say but I can say in my opinion its a little irrational to think that way. The Scientific side of things is what facinates me. The polar shift seems like a very possible event and something that can be backed by research.

I believe it will happen eventually but I'm not going to live my life worrying about it. I'm just going to do what I do and if/when it happens, it happens.

I believe that since we're extremely different from other species in the past, we will survive for billions of years. Eventually we will have unlimited energy at any given moment thanks to harnessing solar energy in such immense ways, that we'll be able to accomplish anything, including preventing some cataclysmic collision with an object from space like an asteroid. When the sun is about to do a supernova, we can easily move Earth away to another galaxy. I think we'll all die after the Big Rip. That is, the Big Bang was when everything started to expand, and the Big Rip is when Gravity brings everything back together and that's the end of it, we'll know that we'll die for sure!

They should you know, re-read the bible. Considering most places are saying Obama is the Anti-Christ it really shows how much they've actually read.

In billions of years the sun will collapse and form a black hole, or something like that.

The Sun won't form a black hole. It will form a brown dwarf. But the Earth will be dead long before that.

Naw, man. The sun's too small for that. It'll form a red giant, engulfing all the planets of the solar system--and then some. Then, after finally depleting its helium / hydrogen and whatnot, it'll collapse into a white dwarf. The more you knooooow.

"Or something like that," but now that I know the facts I'll be a hit at the local Christian clubs!

Actually, it will only engulf up to Earth and maybe Mars. Then form a white dwarf and planetary nebula.

That will never happen because (a) there is no god and (b) if the world was ending, no one in their right mind would come to OT to post about it.

But it's safe to assume that the world population will fall dramatically if the above thing(s) happen.

My view on apocolypse is that 1). it will happen soon, within the next decade

2.)the rapture will occur beforehand

3.)several warning signs will be seen such as

a.)the four horsemen

b.)severe planet-wide weather and disasters(earthquakes-indonesia, flood-indonesia, volcanic eruptions-not seen, etc..)

Finally, whether I myself am raptured or not, i will continue to believe.

The apocalypse is a farce at best, you do know how many times this has been predicted in the past don't you......... It's a complete embarrassment!!

I think it will end in a spectacular bang. I don't think demons will come and destroy the planet as I don't believe in that sort of stuff. Mankind will be the doom of every life form that exist on this planet, which makes me sad.......

But, the bible says that no person knows the day the world will end.

And, people have been saying these things for thousands of years. People always think the world is going to end.....it will eventually, but there is no point in thinking about it since there is nothing we can do about it, and no one knows when it will happen.

By the way, what makes you think this?

Well, there is evidence of the apocalypse being iminent. i cannot reveal this evidence but it still might not happen, you might be right, maybe we are just on a paranoia trip

As far as the religious go, I am Christian btw, there is always evidence that the world is coming to an end. We, as a whole, have to be the most paranoid people to walk the Earth.

I, for one, do not want to know when the world will end. That is some scary **** to think about.

What we need to do is to stop looking for the apocalypse and just try to make the most of the life we are given, in line with God's principles of course.

Well I think mankind will end when we all nuke ourselves, and the world will end when it's consumed by the sun. No mumbo-jumbo involved.

bangell99

Well that's 2 out of the 4 anyway.

BTW did anybody ever play Apocolypse? One of my favourite PS1 games at the time.

Not necessarily. My mother was told she had a year, around 5 or so years ago, and she kept on like nothing happened. She always says we are only thing we are guaranteed in life...is death. She did, however, survive what was suppossed to kill her.

It surely is an interesting scenario to ponder on dead-boring days.

It spices up your day with some suspence: "Is it today? Is it tomorrow? Are we close? Is it soon, already?!" and so on...

The book of revelation which is what most of you are basing your idea of the Apocalypse on was written by John of Patmos. Patmos is an island in Greece. This island is famous for two things. John, who lived alone in a cave while writing the book, and the Psilocybin Mushrooms that also are native to the dark cave. One only needs to have a familiarity with The Book of Revelation and the effects of Psilocybin to see how they are connected. The imagery and events of the book of revelation are very "trippy." It is infinitely more likely that John of Patmos was a lunatic, living alone in a cave tripping balls all day. He didn't know what was happening with him, and like the other impoverished goat herders that wrote the bible (and religious people as a whole) chalked it up to God.
