Oh, I figured you meant abstinence in general.

Anyway to answer the OP I have no problem with it, as a Christian I applaud it, however if given the situation, and I know it would make me a hypocrite, but I'm not sure that I could abstain myself.:P

But if people can and do, then go for it. I don't get why people put em down because of it.

Abstinence is a four letter word to me.

Personal choice. Different for everyone.

people are gonna have sex...its that simple...if u try to make sex a taboo and tell people nothing about it other than not to do it...then people will want to do it even more(kinda like the cookie jar right?)...on top of that u have to trust the kids to find out all the info on how to protect themselves and how not to get pregnant...i say teach the kids about birth control and std's and how to protect themselves and be realistic in the fact that ur kids are gonna have sex

Well depends....if you mean teach abstinence only then no, that's wrong and just asking for trouble. Some kids are going to have sex and it's best that they be educated about it before hand, otherwise unwanted preganencies can occur or STD's. In some states that teach abstinence only there are a higher rate of teen pregnancies and STD's.

As for just personal life, eh it's kind of impossible to do that. I don't think kids should have sex and I think abstinence should be encouraged until they are adults. But people who say you should wait until marriage, well that's unrealistic sorry. I can't imagine someone living their whole life without having sex, it just doesn't make sense to me.

Now I'm not saying you should whore yourself around because that's wrong too, but sex is awesome and has health benefits, and to miss out on that is just wrong IMO. It's a good thing, not a bad thing.

Abstinence from Hard Drugs good. Abstinence from sex not good. But up to the individual if they follow a religion.

My view is good if that is what the person wants.

I always find it funny when I hear someone say sex is special and should be saved for someone you love. Sex is just like any other activity, there is nothing special about it.

Well it has it's benefits. But how often do we not give in to temptation?

If someone wants to save themselves until marriage for personal or religious reasons, cool. More power to them. I still personally wouldn't do that because I would want to know if the person I'm going to spend the rest of my life with is good in bed before I decide marry them.

But when political or religious leaders think teaching abstinence-only sex education will work I think they're extremely out of touch.

If anyone wants to anything in this world, let them, just don't force it upon others, like being vegan and what not.

If they don't want to have sex until they're married, than that's they're idea/opinion, and no one's saying they're wrong. But like what I said, there's the people going around spreading abstinence to others, which should go against the idea, since they're forcing it upon others, especially when say things like "YOU'LL GO TO HELL IF YOU HAVE SEX BEFORE GETTING MARRIED!!"
