That's totally the only reason im still a virgin.Drakes_FortuneYup same here, definitely. For sure.
It's not called abstinence if you can't get laid. Nude_Dudebest post
Abstinence is pretty worthless on all fronts. There's other methods of contraception and it just represses sexual desires. The only thing it does prevent is STDs, but there's other ways of avoiding those as well.

But, see It's not because they can't get laid. It's just views on people that choose to be abstinent. I'm excluding virgins that are trying to get laid.My cousin is about eight months older than me and knocked up two chicks. one miscarried. He married the one that ended up mascarrying and has to pay child support for the other, now. He's twenty... I also know some one who has hepatitis from unprotected sex... Just be careful people! That's all.
Me?
I'm sick of the sexual images media shoves down our throat now a days.
One of the many, many reasons why I stopped watching television altogether.
I'm not a sex-crazed maniac. But I also don't care what other people do in their spare time.
Its stupid. Part of religious extremism.
lo_Pine
Hm.
Anyway, if somebody can remain abstinent whilst refraining from succumbing to the peer pressure and societal pressure to have sex, that's an impressive venture.
Although whatever i don't care what you want to do.

I think it's good. It teaches people to actually love each other rather that just be there for sex.

No it doesn't.

I don't think abstinence has to be about religion. There's too many people these days spreading dangerous STDs and popping out unwanted kids, I think resisting peer pressure and the media's pressure to have casual sex with lots of people is a very morally responsible thing to do these days.
Makes quite a bit more sense to promote education on safe sex than on no sex, given that people will have it regardless.
It's not abstinence if you can't get any anyway.
I suspect it of 90% of people claiming abstinence.

Some people make themselves unattractive on purpose because they don't want people hitting on them and/or attempting to rape them.

They sure do a good job with the fat/ugly thing. There's other methods of contraception and it just represses sexual desires. Saturos3091Abstinence is the only 100% method of birth control. And abstinence isn't necessarily absence of sexual activity, merely sexual intercourse or other activities that could lead to pregnancy (such as frottage).

incorrectActually it's true, it's especially true for people who were molested as children and use it as a psychological defense mechanism.

No it's not true lmao what's wrong with you? (the molestation thing is correct but that's the only thing you got right)As someone who can't/doesn't get any, if you CAN get it ... GET IT - don't **** around waiting to get married. Just screw around, literally, and when you meet someone act accordingly.
Once you get married and have a few kids you basically become abstinent.
Sad but true. One reason why many husbands have wandering eyes.
As for growing up through your teen years abstinent. I think that forcing it upon your children just makes them want it all the more.
Why would i want a woman who has already proven that she isn't committed to me? I don't want some uncontrollable animal who gives into their urges.
She needs to prove to me that she is committed to me, and only me. Vice versa as well. I don't want my significant other doubting my committment to her.
Now, I personally think the actual marriage ceremony is pointless, but I support the idea of being with only one person in my life. I think two people should be able to decide that they want to spend the rest of their lives together, then thats it. There isn't a need for all of the theatrics like walking down the isle and all that stuff.
Since gay folks can't get married and sex is an important part of a long-term, loving relationship, abstinence as the only option presented in education doesn't work for everyone.CodingGeniusGay's can marry tho
Abstinence isn't safe sex, it is the lack thereof. I'm fine with it as a personal choice, and I would respect it if I ever dated someone who wanted to remain abstinent, but schools that preach it as the only effective way to combat pregnancies and STDs can *** off.

It's not even remotely universally accepted. It's okay in my state, but it isn't in most of the US and a lot of developed countries.

What are you saying here?
It is ineffective. Regardless of anything else, the fact that it does not really work renders all supporting arguements moot.
