I like having no mods. Being able to just say whatever we want gives you a sense of freedom. Now, I know people abuse it, I don't, but I know people do.
No, I'm in no way for censorship, but haven't they already did enough? No one tells you to read comments, and they are already censoring popular videosfor cursing and taking down things like racially bad videos. I think it's funner and funier with the cursing and the tirades and stupid comments, I have no problems with it at all.
Nah, there's something slightly poetic about having no regulation, then you get to see what people really think. Having said that, I wouldn't like that to happen to other popular sites, just as long as we have one site with no regulation like YouTube.
Sometimes, I think can be pretty stupid when it may come until these things. Suppose this, there's this girl who's a mod at youtube. She obsessed with jonas bros or whatever, she'll prob delete people's video like smosh's or whatever just to promote fred or jonas bros. Just suppose it. The mods over there would be jerks as well.
I tend to believe that the vast majority of the awful, awful things said on youtube are jokes. You kind of have to in order to retain any sort of faith in humanity.
And modding comments would be way to big an undertaking to ever be successful.
But what's the point? So what if people are being extremely offensive? Is it doing a **** thing? 99% of them just say the stuff they do because they're on the internet.
it is getting out of hand. spam, trolling, people that dont no when to shut up. i usually see 2 ppl fighting and it always ends up in a big paragraph with 70% of the words cursing, slag and insults.
just dont read the comments. i would not mind having mods.
Personally, I don't really care. I never use the comment system or pay attention to them anyway. And I personally don't think the videos need moderated anymore than they are.
Sounds interesting and I agree the majority of the community is awful, but you really want an army of mods checking EVERY YT vid known to man? :|SpiritOfFire117
That is true that it will be impossible to check every video but they could at least try the best for now.
I'm pretty sure that YouTube is bigger than Wikipedia. Fifteen hours of video are uploaded every minute. I agree that most commenters are idiots, especially the ones that that treat it like a forum, but the only thing I can do is hide the comments.
What, and put a stop to all the random, overt rascim and poorly spelled dialouge? Thats the best part of YouTube, its where all the lulz are to be found.
In all seriousness, its pretty lame, but YouTube is so massive it would require some serious mods to work around the clock to clean it up. Logistically, I don't think it can be done.
