YouTube is absolute garbage.

Seriously, stay away from YouTube. The other day my computer began downloading HUNDREDS of random viruses and spyware, disabling my security systems, and completely destroying my comp. Then I called someone and they looked into it, and turns out Youtube gave it all to my computer. Now it's fixed. The technician said this happens frequently with YouTube, a fact I wasn't aware of, sadly. God only knows how much data I have lost.

Youtube already sucks as it is. The community there has the average IQ of a box of clipped finger nails, with mindless drivel and racist comments drowning out anything remotely intelligent. The website has nearly NO moderation whatsoever, so only the very most offensive videos get deleted (none of the comments are deleted).

Now they're sending out viruses to their users. This combined with the fact that they are (albeit forced by law) releasing the data of its users makes YouTube not worth the attention it receives.

There are much better websites for viewing videos, including Veoh, or even Google Video is good. YouTube's videos are so glitchy every other day that they play two seconds, stop for five minutes, play for two more seconds and on and on.

YouTube is nothing more than a hideout for conspiracy theorists and 12-year-olds with nothing to do but act like racists on camera and comment on how someone is stupid with comments like "dud your so dumb why dont you just go to hell ***."

I'm deleting my Youtube account. I very highly recommend you do the same.

Youtube has No moderators, thus its a nice community, no censorship nor abusive moderations at all :D.

Just dont watch silly vids and ignore racist comments. Never had any viral probles with YT though.

I was watching videos and the next day my comp was downloading random files without my doing anything. I don't know how viruses work entirely, so I don't know how they gave it to me, but that's where they came from.

I went to Veoh before and could barely find any good videos or videos i wanted to see, and it was slow.

Youtube glitches up and stops playing the video after two minutes or so. Then you have to rewind and watch it again from the beginning.

I bet they have a filter system that filters out spyware and viruses that may be attached to the video file.

Most servers have that built in.

It's very hard to upload a virus to a server... The firewalls are very good.

1) That really sucks, however I have not yet been hit by a virus from youtube. I mean the videos gets transcoded, not the flash code itself. But there's always a way with something, and people always wanting to ruin someone elses experiences.

2)I think people have mastered how to add the thumbnail at certain time points of the uploaded video to fool you. Granted it is quite annoying, but I usually just stop and move on. I mean Spore has tons of people creating bs like penis monsters and monsters having sex. People will find a way, like I said before.

3)I personally don't buy into, but I do expect google to take responsibility for things that are wrong with it. For instance, they've added the tedious 'type what you see' to stop spammers, copyright infringement :roll: , innappropriate content (like the animal sex), you can report the user for abuse with their profile, and google will take a look at it.

Their moderation isn't as powerful as like Gamespots forums, but that's a lot of man hours to seed through these continuously uploaded videos and moderate them appropriately. I'm not saying it can't be done, just a lot of work and money, and already Google has a hot plate on their hands with Viacom already.
