The lack of Interstate '76 and Battletech invalidates that list. Also, anyone else feel like they just immediately write in Deus Ex as number one and then use the paper in a hat technique to pick the rest?

I've seen worse lists. Most of the right games are there, just not in the right order.

Props for putting Call of Pripyat on there, and having ME 1 higher than ME 2.

Disliking the lack of Mafia though. System Shock 2 should have been higher. Interesting that there wasn't a single CoD game.

With few exceptions: very biased to newer'ish games (no games from the 80s? Really?). Unless I am misunderstanding what the list is about it seems almost like random games were interjected.

I question how games move up in the list? For example Portal moved up 9 places... Is it better now than it was when it was released or even just last year? I understand stuff moving down on the list (because it gets replaced by new games) but I don't understand how they move up.

I like how they credited a mod for one game whose whole existence was based on another game that PC Gamer gave a GOTY award to and said at that time defined the Tac-Sim genre. Rainbow Six should have been on that list instead of 2 versions of CS.

that list was bad in some ways and good in others.

I personally think that Dawn of War should have been in their in the top 25.

Half life shoulda got 4-5 and half life 2 deserved 1 place or 2nd and Deus ex deserved its spot as either 1 or 2.

Also I feel that medieval 2 shoulda been in there, i mean it wasnt as ground breaking as Rome but it should have atleast broke the top 50.

And i do not see why star craft 2 was soo good it was essentailly the same game with minor improvements and better graphics.

Also i didnt see it there but the lack of the 1st C&C is just disgraceful.

Yes, and starcraft 2 scored higher than starcraft 1? And they gave HL2 and HL2 EP2 different slots.

You need to take into account the historical signficance of games when you rate them, also compare them to their contemporaries, measure longevity, etc.

Just from that, starcraft 2 and 1 should switch places.

Wow > oblivion, yes, Either > SC? No, better than ME2, no. HL2 wasn't all amazing either. This list is garbage.

SC shouldn't switch places with SC2, it should go infront due to sagnifigance, but SC2 is in no way 86, especially when Oblivion is on the list.

Its ok of a list. Most dissapointing that they put Oblivion on 3rd place. It was an ok game but I wouldnt put it in top 50... Also suprisingly they got each game out of the series in different places. Like Half Life, Half Life 2 and Half Life 2 Episode 2. I dont see how Half Life 2 Episode can even be ranked as its basically an expansion.

Than they also got Counter Strike and Counter Strike Source, I would just see them as one game preaty much.

Meh, No one ever thought... oh yeah, some amazing games were absolutely forgotten. But I guess no one remembers any of the Descent series? And I think I know why... the games were probably too hard to play; not to mention they also induced motion sickness to some players.

You're right it shouldn't be 86. Top 25 for sure.

List is pretty bad IMO, but I'm glad ArmA 2 got the position it did. More people need to play ArmA 2 (plus OA) and see how great the series is.

For instance, it is my opinion that Oblivion is amazing. It is also my opinion that WoW is garbage, and SC2 isn't even in the top 5 best RTS games that I've played. Now, you see these statements and something in you might say "Boy, he's wrong! Why wouldhe say something that is so incorrect?!" While that reaction is normal, it's important to keep in mind that opinions are things that are based on individual feelings rather than quantifiable data.
