Okay so Im a gamer on a low budget. Very low indeed after buying a 4850.

I currently have 2 options for a monitor:

A sony LCD running at 1280x1024 or an IBM flat panel CRT running at 1600x1200 at 75Mhz.

Which one shouldI get?

the crt. That way you don't have to worry about the resolution in some games

Somes games (especially old one) are not widescreen and/or are locked to a low resolution like 800*600 or 1024*800. On a lcd monitor taking a resolution lower than the native one will make the game look worse, while on a crt you can change the resolution without any problem.
