for starters, ultimate isnt worth it, you wont use the extra feratures it has unless u work in corporate office etc. home premium is better

unless the third pci-e slot is a must, (tri sli is a waste of money imo) try the eVGA 750i FTW, it has AMAZING overclocking, plus features like a cmos reset button, power and reset ont he bard, etc.

with the money you jsut saved you could go 8800gts 512mb sli if you wish which would be amazing performance for todaty's standards, hell even tomorows standards lol

for the psu, newegg has a deal witht he corsair 650w psu, it costs 115$ and has free shipping so its cheaper than the 550w and this one has a 20$ mir. it is much stronger than the raidmax, which is a must if you go sli with the 8800gts's

good luck wiht your build man

Ok a couple of gripes.

1. WTF do you need all those fans for? It's going to end up like $30 before shipping, and for what? You can't even put those fans in their without modding the case yourself or replacing existing ones. Quite frankly it seems like money that could be spent elsewhere.

2.You wont need 3 way SLI, and your absolutely insane if you think your PSU will take it.

3. That PSU is fairly low quality, and I believe its one of the lowest tiers PSUs you can get.

4. The 9800GTX is overated, you can get a way better price/performance ratio with an 8800GTS.

5.Why do you need a DVD reader, and another for writing? The later of the two can do both...

6. The Freezer 7 Pro comes with pre-applied thermal compound, thats onpar with AS-5, so you can take out that Artic Silver.

The xtra fans are to replace the case fans, the reviews I read said the case fans were not that great. I really dont play going tri-sli, its just the mobo got pretty good reviews. and since I am building a new PC for a little xtra I can get the 9 series GPU instead of the older 8800. I know the performance is not that much better, but if you look at benchmarks and the such the 9 series has better DX10 performance.

Ok so I changed the mobo, and went with Vista Home. Also the fans I added to a different wish list as I dont plan to buy those at the time of PC purchase. Those are more of a "in case" the case fans dont perform well.

Ok don't buy the crap that is the 9800GTX. What you should do is get 2 9600GTs since you are getting an SLI motherboard. That is the best price/performance combination in the $300 range. It might even be cheaper since you can get a 9600GT for $120 in some places. Nvidia did something right this time because the 9600GT scales very well with SLI. Where is your PSU? http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/geforce_9600_gt_sli_performance/default.asp

You might want to change that Vista 32 to a 64bit version. Vista 32 will only recognize 3.5GB of ram as far as I know.

What is he going to do if he wants to upgrade in the future? Get two more 9600gt's? If you get the 9800gtx or even a 8800gts you can buy another card in the future.

If he wants to upgrade in the future he's going to replace his 9800GTX with the next line of cards. Putting another card in later down the road is never cost effective or even performance effective. The next line of cards are going to destroy the 9800GTX and 9800GTX in SLI.

QFT.

SLI is hardly ever worth it, and the 9800GTX doesn't give the performance it should for the price.
