So I was looking at getting a 1440p monitor. I was thinking about the QNIX QX2710 LED Evolution II

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4JH1NB1871

I currently have an ASUS VE228H 1080p monitor and I was wondering if the upgrade would be worth the cost. I don't want to spend more than $300.

My current setup is an i7 4770k and a gtx970.

Yeah i have the exact same one and its also overclockable (mine goes up to 110hz) jus make a custom rez in the nvidia cp start off with 120hz and go down till its stable. its an awesome monitor for the price

Edit...And yeah i have 2 970s but only tried a single one when dragon age i was having sli issues and i think it did run at a ultra settings 60fps

@Toxic-Seahorse: I would stick with 1080p if your wanting to get a steady 60fps on new or future titles. Unless you plan on getting another 970 for sli. Then 1440p would be ok.

Yeah I was thinking about that. I wouldn't mind turning down the settings on some games and I feel the higher resolution and bigger screen space would be beneficial for non gaming things like coding.

@Toxic-Seahorse: if u don't mind running games at medium settings at 1440p then go for it. I personally prefer the higher fps over res, but if your going to use it for more than gaming then go with the bigger screen and 1440p. Would also look into an IPS monitor then.

I got lucky with mine, I can get 130hz only paid $330 a few months ago. I'm quite pleased with this.

I did have 3 monitor set up before (1080p), but wanted to move to something bigger, but not super expensive.

Hey, I have the same brand. but mine is the no dead pixel and something made by samsung or wahtever lol. was like 399 at amazon. IT was more expensive than some of the other ones.

Running GTA V on it, looks great at 1440p ! the response time is kinda high though. I noticed a difference when I went from a 24 1080p with 5seconds response time to this QNIX monitor

I didn't get it in 24 hours but I did get it in 2 days, which is still ridiculously fast coming from South Korea. I'm loving it so far. The larger space alone is fantastic for doing work. Also, this thing is large. Coming from a 21.5" monitor this thing is a giant. I haven't had much time to play around with it for games but I did load up FC4 for a couple of minutes and it seemed to run smooth on the same settings I was running it at on my 1080p monitor (mostly maxed out).

Yeah insanely quick, I bet they are taking a loss on these monitors, they have to be lol. I love it as well. I can notice the difference between this and my 23 inch HP that's right next to it.
Nice, I'm sure you see with time that you can run it at 1440 as well. The 970 is a strong card. Out the box it was already giving me better performance than my 7870's in crossfire.
It can handle 1440p and 1600p as well. After you've tested it some more maybe you can give the overclock a shot? That monitor OC's quite well. I got mine at 120hz atm, but it seems to max at 130hz.

I've been testing out my new 1440P monitor with a GTX 980, which isn't far from a GTX 970, and it seems to do well with the majority of the games out. Does Hardline, Middle Earth, and Dying Light at 60+ FPS with a little bit of AA, looks pretty dang good.
