1) If I buy a 144hz Monitor to use my PS4. Would I drop frames? I've heard that all hardware that integrated a monitor with rates above 60hz often drop a few frames. This is true?

2) Playing on a monitor with refresh rate above 60hz gives a feeling of greater fluidity even running at 30fps or is it myth?

1) Wrong board

2)No it's not true, pointless to buy a 144hmz screen with a console

3)Yes it's true, if you can get the 60fps which you don't on consoles

I did not understand 100%.

1) Can I achieve more fluidity even if it's just an optical impression because of a higher HZ rate than a 60Hz TV? Can I have this feeling of greater fluidity by running games at 30fps with a 144hz monitor? Or I'll have the same feeling as playing on a 60Hz TV. I ask the question because I've heard rumors that playing 30fps at 144Hz is more fluid than 60Hz.

2) Is the PS4 compatible with FreeSync technology since it has AMD architecture as well as FreeSync that was designed for AMD architectures?

Only buy a 144hz monitor if you have a PC to take advantage of it. There is no benefit for consoles. The best thing to do with a 144hz monitor and a console is to set the monitor to 60hz if it does not auto detect this already.

You'll see "gaming monitors" used sometimes in FGC tourneys and what not, but that is to simply get the lowest amount of input lag possible. The console is not utilizing anything over 60hz.

But is it possible to get a more fluid feel at a refresh rate of 144Hz even if we're playing at 30fps?

I mean ... Because of the high refresh rate, the 30fps can get more fluid than if they were running at 60Hz?

The consoles can't even output higher than 60hz signal, literally the only benefit of high hz monitors for console is the least amount of input lag that's why they are used for fps/fighting games

@littleangrydog: 30fps will feel like shit regardless of what display you are using. I recommend distancing yourself from consoles all together if you care about quality and competitive gaming. PC is so much better. I have all the consoles, but I only play exclusives on them. PC is my primary platform.

Maybe I really choose to play multiplatforms on PCs in the future. But for now I have to take advantage of the consoles I already bought. There is not much to do about it. But surely in the near future I will buy a good PC Gamer accompanied by a great monitor 144hz.

IMO there is no much point in playing console games with a monitor. The only advantage is input lag, but there are TVs that put good numbers in that area, like the TCL P607 with 15ms (best monitors are around 9ms), and that's a TV with HDR and 7 times the contrast of average IPS monitors. You're just sacrificing too much image quality for improvements you'd likely never notice.

The only pro of using a monitor for console gaming is if you can use blur reduction in 60Hz mode, but that doesn't work well most of the times and you need a constant framerate for it to work properly, something console games are not known for.

To expand on the answer above

30 fps output on a 144hz screen will give you a 30 fps display. The screen specifications show what it is capable of, the limiting factor is the hardware sending images to the screen.
