In every game I turn on, it will display full screen at lower resolutions, but when I switch it to 1920x1080, it shrinks to a smaller square within the screen, and shakes violently. I had this same problem with the desktop before, and using CCC overscanned the image to like 125%. Any idea how I can fix this?

Unsupported refresh rate or dodgy drivers? I admit I'm clutching at straws. What kind of monitor are you using and with what video card?

Monitor's native resolution is 1920x1080. Also, many games work. All the valve games are awesome. But red faction and crysis won't run full screen.

Hanns-G hh241. And I agree with the refresh thing. It fixed it to set the refresh to 59 on every game so far for some reason. Most games don't offer the option to switch the refresh though from my experience..

There are programs which will allow you to override your monitor's max refresh rate. I'm not sure how wise it is to do that on a regular basis or whether it would even solve your issue, but you could try one of the ones mentioned here. I'm sure there are others available too.

Well since your other games work fine, then it is not because of dpi. What is your graphics card?
