Is there anyway to get the 360 controller to work on your PC without the wireless reciever. I was hoping to use the charging kit to connect and not have to buy anything extra. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Nope, as far as I know you have to get the wireless dongle. Using the charge kit does nothing more than charge the controller.

As GrayFox says, the charger will only charge the controller. Having tested it myself, it does not give you connectivity.

You need the wireless reciever. Do note that it supports multiple devices..you can connect more than one controller (or other 360 device) to your PC with a single wireless receiver. It's not particularly expensive either..but I can see why you wouldn't want to bother spending even more money given that the controllers are friggin' $60 a pop (with the chargers, anyway.)
