What's a time sink?

If you want to play a game for hours without realising, yes, buy Sins. Or Stalker.

Or Warhammer 40k Gold Edition. Or the Witcher.

Or a bunch of old games, like Deus Ex and Undying.

Doubt my pc would run it ^, i have the orange box already, a time sink is a game that last for many many hours and seems to be playable for months without intense bordom. I have Warhammer gold edition. Cant really get old games as i dont feal like throwing 40 bucks on my bank card to buy online and i want to get somthing today. Think im going to get sins but still looking into it.

Would the witcher run ok on my pc? That looks good but i dont wanna screw with getting it to run smooth.

if I were you I'd keep my 40$ to buy a new PC this summer with a better processor and video card. You should look to buy a AMD 6000+ with an ATI 3870 or NVIDIA 9600 and 4gb of ram :)

Or if you really want to buy a game that is going to last for your money....buy Oblivion.

Get STALKER and save your extra 10 bucks.

Its a great game. Very immersive. You should be able to play it for a decent amount of time before getting to tired of it. Bump it down to static lighting to make it run better on your comp.

I have a slightly worse PC than yours that runs UT3 well, you can definately run it. I recommend it. That or The Orange Box. OR if you're into strategy games, Supreme Commander.

Since you have a Xbox I would say. Total War2, Sins of a Solar Empire or the Whitcher.

CnC3's gonna have a pack with it and the expansion soon. The multiplayer's really addictive if you get into it.

Or Company of Heroes and its expansion (I think they're $20 each). A bit difficult at first, but an amazing game.

And definitely CoD4 if you're into shooters and don't have it yet.

Oh and World in Conflict, great game, great destruction, use of teamwork and lots more

I'd recommend getting demos you're interested in and seeing what you like.

Thanks guys, alot of good suggestions here. I stuck with my gut and went with sins and am happy with it. Its really nice to see a game that for once truely has no evil or good factions. Sure some are kinda odd, but its still nice to see a good back story even tho theres no campaign. I really like how smooth it runs and how good it still looks. Not to mention the insane scale of everything.

I woulda went with almost anything in this thread tho but my bing thing is i like to have a system that can play a game well so i can set and enjoy it instead of messing with my computer and the in-game settings. Once i build my new system ill be sure to pick up all the games listed here.

Thanks.

Sins of a Solar Empire doesn't sink time, it brutally murders it, chops it up, grinds the pieces, blends them, then burns them, and then snorts the ashes.
