So, I'm having alittle trouble deciding on which one to purchase as I really don't play any demanding games as of now. The games that I do plan on playing are Left 4 dead 1&2 and WOW, my targeted resolution is atleast 1900x1080 on a 24" monitor. So would it be wise to choose the 5850 over the 5870? I want to beef up this rig alittle more so the 5770 is being tossed out into a build I'm doing for my nephew later this year.

The 5850 probably gives more bang for buck. Keeping in mind that you don't play any demanding games, I think that's the way to go.

Overclock a 5850 and its as good as 5870, just make sure you get a decent brand that overclocks well.

Left 4 Dead:
.
Left 4 Dead 2:
.
Both are over 60 fps so a 5850 would do. In fact, your 5770 should be enough...

I would consider how often you upgrade. I personally plan on a 5870 because I only upgrade every 2 or so generations. You may not play very demanding games now but you might in a year.

For the games you mentioned, a 9800GT should be more than enough. Your HD5770 is way overkill, and an HD5850 is absurdly over the top.

Yeah, I don't upgrade that often, infact my last gaming build was back in 2005 in the single core days. I was kinda leaning towards the 5870 anyways since the extra power wouldn't hurt.

I suggest you wait until you do build a pc for your nephew before getting a 5870. By that time it will have probably drop in price. There's no urge to upgrade now with the games you play.

Do you already have a 5770?

One of my friends have a PC with 5750, crap proccessors and 2gb ram, he runs Left 4 Dead 2 with beautiful graphics and no lag, so if you aren't planning to play any games with higher demands, you don't need to upgrade.

And WoW i can even play on my laptop with a HD 3650 (Or something), but i didn't play it for more than 3 hours... i don't like wow, at all.
