So is the 5870x2 going to cost 600 bucks roughly, and is it going to roughly equal the theoretical performance of 4870x2's in quadfire? I need to get it for christmas with an i7 rig. Only have 8400gs now.

well think of it this way they will have it rpiced around 500-600 dollars but when nvidia releases their card it will drop to 400-450. But as the 5870 is rumoured to have 1600sp then the 5870x2 will have 3200sp so it should be almost double the 4870 x2 performance theoretically

AMD scales better than Intel in crossfire overall, but you can't go wrong either way. But I'm still waiting to see the "miracle" of DX11 before actually hoping to buy anything.

$600!!!? No thanks I'm gonna get a GTX 275 instead that is just way tooo much money. $500 is better than a 100 more.

my friend got his 4870x2 for 450 on release. so thats more reasonable for a price. depending on the performance it offers.
