What are you using?  Were you overclocking?

For Socket AM2, you kinda need DDR2-800 RAM if you want to see an appreciable performance improvement from the prior, excellent Socket 939 memory controller performance.

With intel's C2D, they all currently run 1066mhz FSB, so they'd only need DDR2-533 at stock, or DDR2-1066 if you have to run single-channel for whatever reason. DDR2-800 would give you some overclocking/fsb headroom, or allow you to run tighter timings at DDR2-533.

As most things in a computer, faster is better, but you won't notice any appreciable difference.

Never purchase "value" RAM. Always go with names like Corsair or Kingston, but never buy value RAM. You don't want your RAM bottlenecking the rest of your system.

If you could spend a little more for 2GB's then I would recommend going with these, you'll be happy that you did.
