Who will be getting one? I wish theyd release the mid range card already!!

That's just all kinds of bizarre. Nvidia can't keep the 680 stocked and haven't released any die-harvested gk104s (ie 670s or 660s), but they're somehow going to launch a (presumably comically expensive) dual-GPU version?
Guess we're definitely getting the 700 series (with a proper gk100/110 as the high-end) later this year, then.

If you are having issues with being able to produce enough it makes perfect sense to sell the one that will sell the least units at the highest cost.
My 460 is still running fine so I'll probably hold out until the 700 series and get the highest end single GPU card in that line.
Any word on when they'll be rolling out the mid-range cards?
GS550L
Sometime in May. But as we arent seeing any details of this i think i could be later. They better be worth the wait!
That's why we Nvidia is switching to Samsung instead of using TSMC, they should be able to get production up.That's just all kinds of bizarre. I'm pretty sure it's not fully confirmed just yet that they're going to switch. They seem to be in the testing phases first to make sure their GPU cores are viable on Samsung's wafers.

But dual GPU cards are super-niche products (as in "I have more money than sense, to the point where I'm going to buy a less-powerful/loud/hot dual-GPU card instead of just SLI'ing a couple of 680's, even though they cost roughly the same") -- you'd have to be getting some crazy yields in order to justify that sort of product over turning out more 680's or launching a die-harvested 670/660.

Typically the dual card gpus are lower clocked, so that would be a good way for them to sell possibly more units. Right now they can't keep them in stock, this is because they are not producing enough. The only way to deal with the lack of supply is by increasing the price point.
I know! I'm really annoyed that I finally have all the parts picked for my new rig, but I can't find an evga superclocked 680gtx anywhere! Ridiculous I say. I'm waiting patiently on newegg.ca to get more stock, but it seems to be taking forever. sigh! :(That's just all kinds of bizarre.
