Finally found the right board to post this on...at last xD.

Right, I'm planning on buying the Nvidia 7300 Le off my friend sometime this week for around £20. Will this be good enough to play the more recent games? Could you tell me a bit about it as well please. Also if you dont recommend this graphics card what about the 7300 GT?

the games that the 7300Le can play are not modern to say the least. it struggles with games like call of duty on low settings.

You get what you pay for. The 7300LE, or GT would be fine for older titles (three, or more years old). But basically, these are not gaming cards. I'd advise you avoid them.

None of the 7300 cards are worth more than $30 USD. The GT is the best of a rather poor lot (and best by a large jump over next best, the 7300 GS), with the LE as the absolute, horrendous worst of them, value of about $10 USD, it's so very bad.

They are for the very simplest of business charts, graphs, presentations, and spreadsheets -- the 7300 GT is OK for some of the older games, three years old, for instance, and of course an MMO -- all that I know of those, at least, are very simplistic and any video anything less than about five years old is enough for them.

Game video starts from the "600" performance level, which is in every recent card's name, except the HD 3850 / 3870. The last three digits tells the performance, and a "300" is very weak. Even a "600" is only for beginners and/ or part time game players; when you play a lot of games, you want an "800".

Could someone recommend me a graphics card that is good enough to play the newer games that isn't going to break the bank. From ebay I wouldn't like to spend much more than £20-£30 ($60)

Yikes! Tight budget. Still, been there myself. I should warn you, any card you get in that price range will be marginal at playing current titles, even at low resolutions. Pretty much forget Crysis. BTW, you are talking about a PCIE x16 card, right? Not AGP? Look for a X1650Pro card. There a couple that fall into that price range.

Edit - If you can afford the 7800GS, it's a superior card to the X1650Pro.

How can we say? You haven't posted your system specs. We don't know what kind of hardware your system already has and how many watts of power your PSU produces. :|

Typically, if your PC has a low-end card, the PSU is also on the weak end and upgrading to a high-end card will most likely also require you to upgrade the PSU, just like your friend had to do.

You remove the side of the case and look. It's almost always printed on the side of the power supply. :)
