7600GT... or 8600GT

Hey,

Just wondering which is the best bang for buck. I intend to upgrade the GPU around Xmas, so what do you reckon will last me. I generally play BF2, CS: S, HL2, GMOD, COH.

I really can't afford an 8800gts atm, I need a cheap card till Xmas. Out of the two, what do you guys advise?jking197

Well if its just to hold you over till xmas thenI would get the 7600gt,you can get them dirt cheap now ,and in the mean time you could save up for a good DX10 card.

Not only dirt cheap, but it will certainly handle all the games he listed with reckless aplomb.

Cheaper? I hear guys here buy 8600GT for 115$. And 8600GT is certainly stronger than 7600GT.

the 8600GT is 115$ the 7600GT is 95$ and the 8600GT is WAY more powerfull I had one I maxed everything at 1024x768LouieV13

8600GT if you can afford it.

If you want to save $$$ get the 7600GT.

Either way they're both good cards.
