The price drops on previous cards are going to be sweet also (AMD/nvidia should be dropping the prices of there older cards such as the 660ti, 7850, gtx 670/680....ect). I"ve been looking around today and have noticed that the used prices have already dropped and the cards aren't even out yet (used 660 ti SC for $220-235, a bunch of used GTX 670 for $260-270 range)

Oh hell yes. As soon as they release the new series and the previous series drop in price I'm finally going to upgrade this GTX 460 to a 7970 or GTX 6xx.

I'll probably stick with my 680 until the 8xx series. I'll decide when I see some benchmarks.

Theres no way in hell that I would replace a $450 GTX 680 with a re-fresh card (save you money and wait till Maxwell which is due summer 2014 or the 9970 which is due towards the end of the year). I have a feeling thats its going to be $550-600 which isn't that great of a deal (you pay 20% more for 20-25% more performance. What a freaking deal ! :| )

I don't see most people with upper tier 5xx cards or decent 6xx cards going for the 700 series (most will wait till Maxwell since games aren't really that demanding).

I would say that inless you like burning money or your an idiot, you should never upgrade a flagship card with another card that is only one gen ahead.. Serioulsy wait two or three gens.. I am fvcking baffled why people insist to upgrade on such routes when performance (especially now) is negligible when hardware is so far ahead of software demands..

Previous gen cards will drop in price, but probably not enough to make it worth purchasing one. The newer cards will offer more power for less money, plus power savings. It probably wont make sense to buy a 680 after the 760ti comes out. The OC versions of that card will probably match a 680 and have better cooling (hopefully), efficiency and should be the same price as an old 680 (~$300). Its also possible that it will have more memory.
