[QUOTE="Makari"][QUOTE="_SKatEDiRt_"]A 7800GTX will max out Crysis. Go read up on it. Its really not that hard to max out Crysis. Its just another computer game people nothing we haven't seen before.9mmSpliff
Large grains of salt there. :) I wouldn't be too surprised if Crysis ended up running better on ATi hardware, I can say that much for sure. We'll see when it's actually out, though. If it looks as good as we think it will, it probably won't run well on the older G70 or whatever cards. When they did a demo last year of the game. It was running @ 1280x1024 on high settings with a 7800gtx 256mb. When they just showed off the game about 3 weeks ago. It was running around 40fps @ 19x12 on a QX6700, 2x1gb and 8800gtx. You can tell its 19x12, because they were using a BenQ monitor that runs at that res only. It had hicups for explosions though, cause of optmizing.
Keep in mind the system requirements are x800 series from ATI and 6800 series from nVidia. Also the fact that Crytek is making the game. FarCry I could play on a GeForce 2 MX. I think people are getting ahead of themselves thinking this game will destroy PCs, when that is what Unreal Tournament 3 will do and Huxley. Or for that matter, any Unreal 3 engine based game generally kicks the PCs ass. SSJBEn runs R6V @ 40fps @ 19x12 with the following
Intel QX6800 @ 3.6
2x2gb Crucial DDR2-800
2x768mb 8800gtx
Yes its Ubisoft, but its also the Unreal 3 engine, which is going to be a new benchmark in games and for benchies. Those Crysis demos were run in Dx9 keep in mind. I dont know what Dx10 will do, although Call of Juarez can be maxed out @ 19x12 @ 30fps with a single 8800gtx and a QX6700 @ 2.66Ghz and 4x1gb. I know this, cause Alpha Omega does that. So Dx10 looks promising when its a full game and not patched (i.e. CoH). Call of Juarez, looks like its not fully optimized either yet. It reminds me of the Oblivion engine juiced up :D. Not the same engine though ofcourse.
I noticed that you had quad-core CPU's. From what I heard, dual-core CPU's (as in Intel) would work better with games today. In DX10 games, would quad-core CPU's (such as the QX6600, which would go for $266 next month :D ) work better, such as Crysis or Unreal Tournament 3?
