theyre barely stronger than the 7600s. they arent stronger than the 7900gs which is just sad. lets hope that when dx10 games start coming out they perform better.
well i was never impressed with the stats and the reviews just prove that even more. This is arounda 7800gt this card. Not that thats a bad starting point, but the gap between the 8800 and 8600 is huge. I say nVidia releases a 8650gts when the 8900gt comes out. In other words, their 2nd launch of cards will fill in the gaps or take over older cards. Afterall, the 640mb has been discontinued.

umm, do u know what you are talking about? this statement is quoted from gamespot:

well, we might have to wait a few weeks for the R600s to come out. That, or we will have to do what someone suggested and save about 50 extra dollars and get the 320 MB 8800 GTS

I agree, that's what I've been trying to do these past few days is convince people that have been wanting to snag the 8600 GTS to NOT snag it. Unfortunately, some of us don't have the Power supply needed for that, and some of us dont have the money for it. You gotta do what you gotta do
