it will max all games on that res for at least 1.5 years, never buy a 640 if ur gonna game @ that res. plus i would recommend samsung 906BW monitor because it rocks, 2ms respond time. or u can get the samsung 940BW.

I have the 941BW...awesome LCD.  From everything I've read, the 320MB is absolutely fine for a monitor of that size and resolution.

Yes, the 320MB version should serve you well if you're going to be playing at that resolution.

So, is it bad that I bought a 640MB for a cheaper price than the 3xxMB version? I play games at a resolution of 1280x1024 or 1152x864???

of course not, if we see the trend continue, we'll see increasing ram usage in future titles such as crysis, so that extra ram helps. the fact that you got that card for less than the 320 mb version is already a reason to say its not bad.

I've heard the EVGA 320mb actually outperforms the 640 in some cases, so I wouldn't worry at all. As for 1440x900, you should be more than fine. Remember to hit up widescreen gaming for all your widescreen gaming needs. (lol that sounded like an ad)

WTF! -- Why? If it costs more and if it has more RAM and graphical pipelines..(doesn't it?)..shouldn't it be better? Or is it NOT optimized for lower res. like that??

I'm not talking consistently, just sometimes it has moments where it's a smoother experience than some 640mb cards.

For example check out the Mark06 score in this review.

Also, I'm referring to the "superclocked" edition, but any 320mb is a damn nice card.

edit: oh I didn't see you were getting a 640, don't worry it is the best card out there

well lets just look at it this way, at about 16x10 the 320 and the 640 are the same. as we know with variances, not all 640's are the same, so we have some 640's lead above others and so on. well that's the same case for the 320 and the 640, so the 320 can edge out ahead of the 640 some times. but once we get to the higher resolutions, well you get your money's worth from having that extra ram and the 640 pulls out ahead indefinitely. besides most benchmarks duke stock 640's against the oc'ed 320's, so you see the discrepancies there.

I too have a 7900GS, I'm running the games that I can at 1440x900 and I can play all of my games on max settings. an 8800GTS should work rather well.

how many stupid people are there on these forums...

the 320 IS crap sure it can play at that resolution but it can also do 1080p the problem is that ur games will NOT be able to do high textures very soon and your going to wish you had atleast 640

remember graw people and other games that NEEDED 512 to run max textures well its the same here 320 is lacking big time and not worth the money unless your a casual.

I bet you feel stupid almost a year later and the 320mb can still run games at max at that resolution (except for Crysis, but no videocard can) Now the 9800's are coming not to mention the new GT and GTS cards replaced the card you reccommended lol.

What??.He is right but just exxagerated quite alot and definitely seem to hate the card but still he is right to an extent. You cannot play crysis with high textures OR shaders with the 320MB card.Dont believe me then just see gamespot's crysis performance.I can play crysis with very high textures without a hitch.I also play it with 2xAA and i bet 320Mb would die doing that.I can play COD4 with 16xAA at 12x10.Can the 320MB do it?

Look at this the 320MB cannot do high textures in gears of war.It cannot do AA either while i can in 12x10.And guess what even my card stuggles with AA in gears above this resolution.

And look at world in conflict in DX10 at 12x10 with 4xAA.The 640GTS is almost twice faster.

And so what if new cards came to replace it.Can we get those cards for free in exchange for an old GTS.:|

And LOL at the comment of maxing games for 1.5 years.

what a sad little guy if something this small is upsetting you to an extent you have to argue this much then WOW you need to leave your pc for a day and get a gf. some people cant afford that super duper bs i recently picked up a brand new 8800 gts 320 mb for 70 pound from ammy im not a hardcore gamer i just got it for grid and gears and to correct you i can play at 1680x1050 everything maxed with 4x AA and i get no less than 40 frames per second so you my friend are wrong if you stumble across this late post or if you are curious about buying a 320 version do it you wont be displeased and also yeah it will fit in a mATX case!
