Hello to the people of the PC Hardware Forum.

I plan to get a 8800GT Akimbo. There is one problem however, it sats that it requires a 400-450 watt powersupply. Mine however is only 350 watts.

I cannot change to PSU at the moment, (I will be getting a entirely new system with about a 1k PSU to put two of these in SLI).

Can I still use this GPU with my current powersupply, and just not use the graphics card to its full potential (ie not raise settings so that less power is used)

No, because undercurrent(not enough power) can harm or shorten life of the graphics card or other parts just as if you overclocked beyond safety limits.
