this is my card as you can see on the top there are 3 silver circle tower esq things..what do they do?

as the first one fell off i loseley celotaped it back and its connecting i think but only by the force of it being pushed down..

i have been having a temp issue of late wonder if its do with that.....or the fact the weather has changed from an avr of 13deg to 25..... iam getting a temp of 88deg if playing a game and 70 when idle.

think the temp issue was before i accdently knocked it off while trying to dust the card.

No picture to see dude. Avg temp of 13-25? That's abnormally low; do you have some sort of extreme cooling or do you live in a fridge? As far as what those silver things do I'm not sure, but I wouldn't put my card back in my computer if one fell off. Especially if it wasn't soldered back on properly.

13-25 is the temp of the weather, not the card itself. His card at idle is 70 and 88deg on full load, which is above normal.

Your picture doesnt work, but from the description, I would say you broke off some capacitors. These are usually used in VLSI circuits to couple different stages, I cannot say what the effect will be but it's usually pretty important.

You are both wrong, hes talking in celcius.

Is a little common sense asking too much?

I know I missed the part where he said 13-25 was his weather; but where were we not talking in celcius? Mayhem is still right.

this is my card (cant post pic for some reason), and the top 3 silver towers the one on the far left broke off, weather is normally here 13 degree Celsius but now is 25 deg Celsius, and my card running idle at 70 degree Celsius. and while playing any game (even low graphical games) runs at 88 degree Celsius.

hope thats clearer :)

do you think it would effect tempreture.....i doubt anyone knows but worth a try and/or what it does?

getting a "Thermalright HR-03-PLUS (8800 GTX) VGA Cooler" to try and help with my temp issue.

Thats condisators/capasatiors and does provide a accumilated powers sorce, like a fast battery. (sorta)

You are not so smart if you run the card with things fallen of from it, your card can and most likely WILL get serious damaged.

Take that card to someone good with elektroniks. Im sure it can be solder by a good steady hand.

Well be very carefull, thease will get damaged if you use to much heat, If the leg of capasitors are very short you need new ones, cos if you heat them up they will swell and they wont do very much good on your card.

Be carefull, my advice is to take that card to a elecktican, cos you dont want a capasitor to explode inside your computer with elektik fluid all over the place. :(

you will need to put a clip above the leg so the heat wont go to the capacitor. it wont be easy at all and if you haven't used a soldier iron in 15 years I wouldn't bother get some else to do it.

What brand is this card? and when was it purchased. There is a chance you have a warranty on it. I would look into that before trying to do something myself, that if it did not work would almost definitely kill the warranty along with the card.

If you have no warranty, then try and fix yourself, just my 2 cents.

Well i did it and now i got some impresive results now its 58 idle and 65 when @ full load (playing call of duty 4, and music if that efefects).

so massive difference was tricky to solder but did it after 20 mins or so. and 20 mins or so installing the ew heatsink so combined i have saved 15-30 deg most worth it :)
