No, because it uses the new 55nm core.

It's just Nvidia with their messed up naming schemes...

Remember the 8800 gts, no not that one, the first one the 640mb... or was it the 320mb? Oh hell the g80. Then there was the 8800 gts, I mean then there was the g92 and the 8800gts 512mb. Well there was a 9800gtx 65nm and now theres a 9800gtx 55nm and a 260gtx which is a 65nm 9800gtx and a 280gtx ( a 65nm 9800gx2).

Was that so hard? Are you retarded or something?

Actually, it isn't overclocked. It's a shrunken die (55nm, as compared to 65nm). Die shrinks will boast a higher default clock speed. The only reason it's keeping the 9800gtx name is because nVidia wants to keep their 9 series on top. They did the same with the 8 series gts cards, g80 and g92.

k so its a 9800gts with a smalled die which allows for higher clock speeds so any chance it will come close to a 4870 if overclocked more. altough then again i could just overlock the the 4870 which would proably negate any performance diffrence. so any one know what die the 4870 has?

What I meant was Nvidia loves to try to confuse everyone by rereleasing cards alot. Oh and before someone corrects me and feels all smart and s**t the g92 is 65nm not 55nm. my bad. Y`all just cant appreciated my humor for what its worth.

What I meant was Nvidia loves to try to confuse everyone by rereleasing cards alot. First round benches put the 9800gtx and the 260gtx about equal with the 260 marginally faster, and the 9800gx2 and the 280 even closer. Oh and about the nm sizes I was off. g92 use 65 nm cores for some reason I was thinking 55 nm. See nvidias got me so f*cked in the head right, nvidia cards are the big red ones right?
