Anyway is the wired 360 controller a good choice for pc gaming ?
Sorry to bring this up ( I didn't want to creat another thread :P) Anyway I've been thinking and gonna get a gaming keyboard so I wanted to ask if the Razer Tarantula keyboard worth the money? fell free to recomend a good or better keyboard.lbjkurono23
personally, i think gaming keyboards are a waste of money, but i'm sure there are others who disagree with me. get a nice gaming mouse, though; that's worth the investment.
This is the thing, if you get a 360 controller it's compatible with all current games that support controllers and newer games specifically designed for the 360 controller... but other brand controllers (regardless of how much better they are) won't work with the newer games made for the 360 controller.
Having a 360 already, I must pick up one of those USB wireless controller receiver things.
Of course, mouse and keyboard is best for most gaming. But racing, sports and platformers are great with controllers.
I have collected a few controllers for pc over hte years.
- One cheap ass one from walmart (the worst of the ones i own)
- 360 wired controller (the best of the bunch imo, really good on everygame ive tried it with)
- ps2 controller with this adaptor for pc (good but not as good as the 360 one imo)
- Some microsoft one that looks like the original idea for the ps3 controller (It was called the boomerang by many lol)
Although i do preffer a keyboard and mouse for gaming overall, i do enjoy the controllers for sports games, racing or fighting ones (there arnt many fights on pc though, and i enjoy a keyboard and mouse for FPS, RTS, RPG and everything else i didnt mention) Its also good for friends who come over and are rubbish with pc controls, to be able to try big games like crysis with a control setup that they are use to.
Agreed with kozzy, DO NOT buy the Walmart controllers, the analog broke and sticks to the top-right, rendering it useless.
I would, however, recommend Saitek, their newest controller has the option of switching the left analog and d-pad positions, so you can use it like an xbox or ps controller, depending on your preference. I, however, use the $25 one that runs on a single AAA battery and lasts 50 hours. No rumble on mine, but I haven't had to charge the battery yet after owning it for a few months. Makes a good game controller/media center remote.
in the very games that actually make better use of a controller over KB/M combo, i use a wired XBox360 controller and it is indeed pretty solid. it's no original Sidewinder, but an excellent choice nonetheless. if you dont play many games that need a controller, then don't worry about it.
joystick: Saitek, every one they make is just solid gold.
KB/M - logitech's lineups are really good and so are Razors.
