Is the above statement true? I'm just wondering because I might buy a tuniq tower to replace my freezer 7 pro.

The larger the fan the slower the rpm is needed to produce the same airflow with a smaller fan and higher rpm.

Not sure about the rules here on GS sooo I'm not gonna post any links to products. However, I will say that there are fans to be bought that are designed to be silent. A quick Internet search will show you what you need. :)

I have an xclio case and the fans on it One is 25cm and the other is 23cm. Both are huge. Both are silent. Both cool my system down A LOT.

Scythe has released a few coolers that are better and cheaper than the Tuniq Tower...

Smaller fans will make more noise. Just an example: I have 4 120mm fans in my case, and i have the small chipset fan going all the time, and I can barely hear the 120mm but can hear the chipset fan from across the room.

just as a warning, fan manufacturers are free to say whatever they want about how much air/noise their fans do. some manufacturers take this as a license to completely make up numbers, or measure it in impractical ways to come up with numbers that are completely impossible. if you see a 120mm fan that spins at 1600rpm and says it's under 20 decibels, they're lying. period. certain silver fans tend to be amongst the worst offenders. they're not bad fans, but they're not miles better like they would have you believe either. places like silentpcreview put a lot of effort into measuring the real-world performance of fans vs. each other.

its not the size that makes the noise, its the rpm of the fan that makes the noise, the faster, the noisier.

Buy a nice 38mm thick fan and run it at 5-7v. It'll move just as much air, but it'll be silent...
