This is easy!
E6600.
Gigabyte DS3 or MSI 650i if you want SLI.
2GB DDR2 800.
8800GTX if you want dx 10,X1950XT if you don't want dx 10.
Corsair HX 620 PSU.
500GB HD

And do you have a case, dvd drive, etc you can use from your old PC?

Instead of the 8800GTX, wait a couple of weeks for the R600. They are supposed to be more powerful than the 8800 GTX, but as cheap as an 8800 GTS

If you lived in the UK, I could beat that, and even throw in a Quad Core, however, you are in the US....so I cannot help:(

I'll give you a quote anyway!

I have a few old co-workers from Romania and they've told me that computer component prices there are ridiculously high. I remember him telling me a E6400 processor was like near $400 USD, which is almost 2x the price we have here in the US.

Whatever you decide, I can build you the following for £950, which is approximately $1800:

Core 2 Duo E6700 2.66Ghz (Quad Core would cost waaaay to much).

2GB RAM

1 Terrabyte Hard drive (2x500) with Raid

8800GTX/or whatever you want

+ CD/DVD Drives, Keyboard & Mouse etc

I would buy it myself if I could afford it......

Very true :D thats why i am planning to buy the pieces from online shops and get them shipped to romania. cuz 2000$ will turn to 2000 Euros which is like 2500$ or more then buy stupid computer components for quite a high price!! i am looking at some websites if they can ship to romania
