Charlie Brooker, a self proclaimed "paedophile walrus" and vitriolic journalist has just begun a new show "Gameswipe". It's proving very entertaining and it even addresses the media's consensus on our favourite hobby; and not all professed by a scantly clad female charlatan too, this guy knows a fair bit. Yes, it's a welcome change. For those interested here is the link to part one:

The proceeding parts can be found on Related Videos; come on people we're all very modern and know how to use youtube! :)

I saw it last week and really enjoyed it. I hope it gets made into a series, this one is just a one-off.

BWAHAHAHA on Call of Juarez... Part 3 really shares my own perspective on game characters today, in addition to writers input in games. It certainly indeed feels derivative with game stories entirely; essentially reflecting that writers are lacking in areas to convey innovative stories to the player. Arguably, stories really aren't important in video games, though we gamers at least expect it to be apparent. The industry is so saturated with technical achievement that I do believe there still are quite some years before stories become of priority importance. Nevertheless, thanks for sharing bud.

I thought it was really pedestrian to be honest. No funnies as far as I could tell (Except "SUCK IT! .. No, don't") and it was all really frothy, should have been half an hour. It seemed like it was made for people who actually watch bbc four when Charlie Brooker isn't on as well :D "This is what a games are". I wouldn't commission it on the strength of that. Didn't think the format worked for games at all. Screens, yes, newses, yes, gameses? No. Seems games telly is just impossible to get right, no ones really managed it (except maybe consolevania but that wasn't on the telly, videogaiden just wasn't the same)

Overall it was quite entertaining and had some nice jokes, but yes it was a bit long.

You didn't laugh when Brooker imagined back-stories for the disposable German Soldiers in Wolfenstein? :P

There is hardly anything about PC games in particular. Its not a bad show, but it has very little to do with PC gaming.

Watched on iPlayer a bit ago, pretty good. Funny, dosn't take the "games are evil" side and is relatively well informed (no proclaiming Halo as the FPS genesis)

BBC iPlayer.. allows People in the UK to catch up on BBC shows (which this is) for free.

I watched 10 minutes of this show on Youtube and I am left wondering how this is a show for PC gamers. The majority of the show I saw the host was talking about console games. It was a pretty funny show but I wouldn't call what I saw a show for PC gamers.
