Hey,

I bought an Acer Aspire E380 a while ago, it worked fine until I connected my new iPod Shuffle, it wouldn't start up, the monitor displays the Acer logo and DEL: Setup F12: Something. I read on the internet that more people were having this problem and disconnectiing all USB devices did work in their case (and connecting PS/2 keyboards). Not in my case unfortunately, since I was having trouble with some sort of bug, which says that there is a USB device connected to the PC (while that isn't the case) at all time (before my PC quit working I got really annoyed by it). My question is how do I change the settings of my BIOS when it's impossible to enter? Can I try to change settings at my harddisk at another computer, so that it doesn't use USB to start up (something like that)? By the way, the intro screen doesn't react on my keyboard (PS/2 or USB), I heard it might as well be a hardware failure but that's unlikely since this all happened suddenly when I connected my iPod. Please someone help me!

Try this: Unplug the AC-adapter and also remove the battery. Now, hold the powerbutton down 15-20 seconds. After that, plug the ac adapter in (not the battery). Now, start the laptop.
