As far as I see both Activision/Blizzard and EA are in it for one thing making money just 2 different approaches.

Activision/Blizzard try and go for the maximum income per unit while at the moment EA is trying to sell more units.

Examples...

High price of MW2 and focused on its highest payers (Console Owners), WOW charging for additional contents pets and name changing charges.

A E.A product being in every day of the steam sale while I cannot recall any Activision products being available.

We only think Activision arepariahs because of the money making approach goes against our concerns. I don't buy Activision/Blizzard Products not because I think there evil just that for what they offer they are overpriced.

I thought Blizzard defined PC gaming. :V

Unless you like Warcraft, Blizzard probably won't be of any interest to you. Maybe when they release D3 and SC2 they will be back on top.

Yeah because Starcraft and Diablo have no fanbases of their own.

That's not what I'm saying, they haven't released a non-Warcraft game since Diablo 2 (2000/2001). It's hard to be fan of Blizzard in the here and now unless you like the Warcraft IP.

freespace was volition, who are still around and just did.. red faction guerrilla and saint's row 2. they're a fully owned THQ studio. not sure who owns the rights to the freespace name and IP, though.. it started with interplay, and who knows where that landed.

edit: interplay still has freespace, since they still own descent and were talking in 07 about doing something with it (right alongside the fallout mmo that bethesda and interplay were making so much noise over). doubt anything's happening there :|

Yeah if it is Interplay don't expect anything. They don't have the money to put together a game right now.

On EA being the so-called pariah of PC gaming,

Sims. 'Nuff said.
