Hey my parts are coming in today and this is my first time building a computer. Is there anything I need to know before starting assembly. Steps I should do first? Do I need to wear gloves or anything? I'm not really sure what to expect and I just don't want to mess it up.

Thanks in advance.

-Make sure to ground yourself before touching any parts. Touch a metal part of the case while you work. -Install RAM, CPU, and heatsink onto the motherboard before putting it in the case. -DON'T FORGET THE MOTHERBOARD STANDOFFS. Screw them into the case FIRST. -Make sure everythings works before you start moving cables around and organizing everything. -RAM is hard to get in the first couple of times you do it because you have to push pretty hard. Make sure to push until it's in there, and don't think you're pushing too hard. -You shouldn't have to force the CPU in, it should fall right into place. -If your CPU has pins and you accidentally bend one, do not panic. You can bend them back into place if you're careful enough. Happened to my 1090t when I was switching heatsinks and it welded to the stock heatsink. I used a thin credit card and ran it along the pins to bend them back. Have fun. It's like playing with an expensive Lego set. As long as you're careful everything will go fine.

When i built my pc, my phenom 965 wouldnt go in. So i pushed and pushed and bent a pin. I examined the motherboard and noticed a piece of dirt in one of the holes. Removed the dirt. Bent the pin back into place  and everything has been going fine for almost a year now.

Oh and forgot to mention attaching the heatsink felt like i was gonna snap the motherboard.

The stock cooler is rediculously loud, hate the noise.

Try pushing down hard on the center of the stock AM3 fan. That makes it quite a bit quieter.
