Adding friends on Steam?.

I can't add anyone on Steam. It says I have to get some games in my library before I can do anything. If that's the case, how many games do I need in there?

A demo won't work. You'll have to buy a game or receive a guest pass to a game.

Yeah you need a game so people don't just make new accounts with Bots. I'm not sure if free games work, though a friend of mine had it work with free portal.

Free games/special offers (eg. Nvidia and ATI offers) doesn't count, you need to buy something.
