Age of Conan Unchained worth a try?

I played Age of Conan upon release and then again a year later when the xpack came out. Always enjoyed the setting and most of all that brutal combat that no other RPG out there seems to have. Anyone think Unchained is worth playing to cap? (something I have never done) or is there another similar rpg out there?

Ug that's rough. If you had never played before I'd definitely recommend giving AoC a try. Since you kinda know what to expect though..I feel it's really just up to you. I never got to cap either, think I got close to level 70 before burning out on it. I think it's a pretty fun mmo, just needed a loooooooooooooooot more polishing, even to this day.

My answer though is prolly look at alternatives. I have not researched it, but by the power of assuming, AoC is prolly a very empty world at this point.

I enjoyed it after it was first released. But then they ruined it with PvP gear, guards in PvP areas, dwindling populations, etc. I wouldnt recommend it now. Most players are PvP 10 (mostly through Bori, PvR aka players vs rocks lol) and you absolutely no chance against a player wilth PvP gear if you're a fresh 80. The last I played PvE was difficult at best to come by due to a very low population and PvP minins are typically filled with high level PvP geared players. You won't damage them without plenty of PvP gear yourself and lots of AAs. Sieging pretty much is non existent nowadays also. World PvP is as well. I couldn't recommend the game in this state, maybe when it was first released, but not now.

Some people do have Internet usage caps, but other than that I completely agree with you.

Cause the game is free but time isn't.  People ask if it's worth investing the time to download, install and play or if they should use that time for another game.

Well obviously guys only I can tell you why I asked. Not to derail the thread entirely but I guess I was looking for people who have experienced late game content recently and can chime in on whether or not its worth the investment of leveling to cap. I already know what to expect from my previous experiences but I was hoping things had changed. That would take me days of playtime to find out.
