Alan Wake - possible March release Date!!

There are several sites stating that the big fella - ol' man Wake - might be coming out in March 2008 (The 21st specifically)

Hopefully it comes out this March but that release date has yet to be confirmed by the company themselves.

I would prefer a gf but that is the life of the biggest loser. I will do my best for tracking down the release date and getting a gf while I am at it.

It is a Vista exclusive game but you can also get it on Xbox360 (as if). As you can see it has been heavily endorsed by Microsoft, for better or worse...

Nah, I'd rather pass on the 360 version, it would be cheaper to upgrade to vista than buy a 360, plus I don't want a 360 anyway. Who knows, maybe there will be a way to play it on xp like halo 2.

2)although I'm sure you are accurate, are you getting these dates from retailers, its very common practice for them to aim at release dates very early in the piece so people preorder early, I think it has more chance at later this year.

Wow I bet they would actually get more sales if it was for XP too. Theres nothing in the game that cannot be done on XP so why is is it not for XP?

Luckily I have a chair on the Alan Wake Forums my friend...there are some high powered people there who will surely confirm this release date.

I have also recently contacted Remedy myself by email - Now we must wait...

We have seen the big trailer a while ago. Im sure there was talk about the game a while ago getting a January release so this isn't far off. Also, wasn't there just as scarce information on Max Payne before it was released?biggest_loser

I can bet on my life that it wont come out before E3.

Have a look at this site. Now there isn't much here. There are two release dates but more importantly there is a picture of the box of the game. Now granted this could be just a superficial thing but we can still take it as a clue perhaps as to how close it is to being finished and nearing release.

Yes, they have always said that.

But how could so many different sites have such a similar date? It just seems to "coincidental" for them all to be saying March. biggest_loser

One site makes an estimation, all the other sites either think the date seen there is legit and copy it, or infer that it is an estimation and agree with it.

Yes thank you I have seen this. While IGN can be described as "reliable" we must still wait until one of my field agents reports back to me with a confirmation from Remedy themselves. This is hard work. Having a chair on the Remedy Forum is not all about receiving plaques and hams you know...

It comes out when it comes out, obsessing over it isn't going to make it come any faster now, is it?

As for biggest_loser, they are going to treat your email nagging for the release date, as they will treat all emails nagging for the release date. Del.

If Wake was going to be out in March EVEN the Highstreet mags like PCZone & PCGamer would be doing previews by now. They even stated in the January issue of PCG that Wake was a no-show at the last E3, and they were even told themselves that it had slipped to later in 08.

They started hyping it up last year when PCGamer did a very (and I mean VERY) vague "preview" of alan wake, consisting of 3 pictures.
