i thought all the guns felt kinda the same , the indoor enviroments all kinda felt the same...it did a great job of scaring me though(The game). and with the 2 expansion packs...i think they r killing the game...i love the Project Origin stuff though

anybody else feel the same way>?

Nope, the engine was just ahead of it's time.

But I found it blended horror and FPS well.

It looked good and the animations and lightings were specifically impressive, as were the particle effects. However, it was waaaay too demanding and the architecture didn't look all that great.

I agree. sure most of the game looks drab with "plastic" textures, but the actual gunfights look spectacular and thats what I think the developers just chose to focus on.

The engine itself was phenominal at the time. The enviroments were repetitive, but the game was kept fresy by the fact that no 2 gun battles were exactly alike

anything is better than quake engine FOR ME.

Quake engine is nice.. but jus look at doom or quake 4.. the crosshair is so fuking big.. and there's bearly any recoil... I call it the no aim game.... what kind FPS doesnt require aim?? zzz so fear was ok - at least i had to aim

hoqizhi

The Doom 3 engine was revolutionary dude.

The cross hair ain't that big. Go play Dirge of Cerberus and see hwo big it is on that game. Good lord

everything sbout the engine is magnificent - and your two complaints aren't really engine oriented

their texture pack was pretty bland (condemned had much more detailed and more interesting textures) but when you're talking about office complexes, this is what you're going to get... that's how offices look

sure, they could've spruced it up a bit, somehow, but they were going for realism - and in this sense, the bland, repetitive environments were realistic

with the weapons, i'm not really sure what you mean... when i pick up the heavy assault rifle, it feels much different to the small submachine gun, which feels much different to the shotgun, which feels much different to the scoped rifle... when we're talking about realistic weapons, most weapons share a certain feel - especially within the same class... it's a realistic shooter with weapons which are either realistic or based on realistic weapons... you're not gonna get nail guns and rail guns and lightning guns here

neither the weapon set nor the texture pack are really engine elements

I don't like games where your trapped in a maze like a rat, FEAR gave me motion sickness & all theBSOD turned me off. Although the later was probably my PC config at the time.

I enjoyed F.E.A.R. when I played it. I need to go through it again with my better graphics card.
